Notes: A love story. Not for Kurtty fans. That`s all I`m gonna say.
X-Men © Marvel Something Beautiful Kitty stirred her straw around in her Diet Coke. She and Jubes were hanging out outside the local fast food place, listening to the latest Dazzler single. It was a boring day like every other day had been during the summer. But all that was about to change. A motorcycle pulled up to the restaurant. The guy got off and took off his helmet. Kitty couldn`t help but stare. His eyes were so intense. And the way his messy hair fell across his face. He smiled at them and said, "Hello ladies." He had a slight British accent. "Hey," Jubes told him. Kitty couldn`t find her voice. He went inside. Jubes looked at Kitty. "What`s wrong with you," Jubes asked. "Nothing," Kitty told her. And she couldn`t stop smiling. * * * It was two months before she saw him again. Scott was teaching her to drive and all of a sudden there he was, sitting on the seat of his bike, helmet in one hand and lighting the cigarette in his mouth with the other. It wasn`t until cars behind her began honking that she realized that she was staring at him and not moving. She got out of the car and started to him. She heard Scott yelling at her but ignored him. "Hi," she said cheerfully. "Hey," he said. "I`m Kitty Pryde." "Pete Wisdom." "So, are you new in town," she asked, trying to spark a conversation. "I guess that much is obvious," he answered. "Well yeah, I mean, small town, new people stick out," she told him. She sat down on the empty spot on the seat. "Ooh, this is so not like me. I`m never this brave around guys," she thought. "Between that and the accent," she continued. "A lot of women think the accent is sexy," he told her. "It is," she said. "Oh my god, I can`t believe I just said that," she thought. "You know what," he asked her. "What?" "You`re floating," he said, taking a long drag off his cigarette. "Huh," she mumbled, looking down. She was. She had risen a few inches off the seat. She jumped off. "Oh my god! I`ve never done that before," she exclaimed. "Thank god I`m not halucinating. Anyway that`s a neat trick you got there Kitty. Wanna see mine," he asked her. "You`re a mutant," she asked, a little surprised. "I guess you`d call me that," he said. Something that resembled a blade formed in his hand. It glowed very bright and gave off intense heat that she could feel from where she was sitting. He flung it into a tree. "Wow," she said, impressed. "Better go now. Looks like your friend is havin` a bit of trouble," he told her. She looked back at Scott, who was arguing, with someone. "Yeah," she said. She turned and stated hurrying back to Scott. "Oh and Kitty, I think your cute," she heard Pete yell. She smiled. * * * Another long time had gone by without an encounter with him, leaving Kitty depressed. A new under 21 club opened and Kitty was at the grand opening bash. Everyone was going and she figured so should she. Despite the fact that it was so much cooler than the old one Kitty couldn`t get in a partying mood. Someone tapped her on the shoulder. She turned. Pete stood right there. Kitty`s face lit up. He held a single red rose in his hand and he was smiling at her. He leaned forward and whispered in her ear, "Looks like I found something beautiful." The End
