A Blasted Friend

Chapter 2

Annabelle sat uncomfortably in her seat during third period. She didn't pay any attention to what the teacher was saying because her hands hurt badly. They were tingling and burning and she knew what it was. It was her powers. She couldn't stand it anymore. She felt like she would explode any minute with her electrical powers.

" Ma'am, excuse me, may I please go to the restroom?" Annabelle asked without raising her hand.

The teacher stopped talking and looked at Annabelle.

" Not unless it is a real emergency." Said the teacher.

Annabelle frowned at her. If only the teacher knew what she was going through right now. She wished she could just zap her right now and everybody else who was starring at her. " It is a real emergency Miss." she gritted between her teeth.

The teacher studied Annabelle's face for a long time before saying yes.

Annabelle power walked into the nearest restroom. As she got there she threw herself onto the counters near the sink. Ready to cry her heart out, about everything that had happened in only a few weeks, she turned the faucet on.

She took off her gloves that protected her from other people being electrocuted, (at least that's what she thought in her head) placed them next to the sink, and started to put her hands under the cold running water. Just before her hands touched the water, her powers unleashed without her command. she touched water, and the electrical currents running through her body reacted to the water making a huge surge shoot up her whole entire body. Sparks flew everywhere, even through Annabelle. She screamed in agony. The lights began to flicker on and off.

********************************************************

Savannah was writing her book problems down when the lights began to flicker dangerously. People screamed and even the teacher was in a panic shock as some of the lights started to fuse out.

*******************************************************

Principal Darkholme shut her blinds glaring at herself at what Magneto had told her. She couldn't believe he didn't think she had the girl. At that moment her lights began to flicker on and off repeatedly. She was frightened thinking that Magneto was doing something. All of a sudden one of her bulbs exploded and sparks flew everywhere. She saw the sparks and thought of one person.

*******************************************************

Annabelle quickly released her hands from the water and fell backwards towards the bathroom stalls. She landed with a thud and began shaking tremendously. Little electric sparks were running up and down her body. She couldn't feel, think, and didn't know were we she was at first.

**********************************************************

" Ms. Darkholme, are you okay? What happened?" asked the girl in the intercom.

Raven broke away from her trance and stared at the intercom.

" Ms. Darkholme?" said the lady.

" I'm fine. I'll go check it out, just stay there." responded Raven. She made a small frown to herself and then started walking out of her office. She headed down the many halls searching ever bathroom on the way, until she got to one on the second floor. There on the floor shaking in fear and little tiny sparks coming from her hands was Annabelle.

Raven looked around to see the faucet still running water and Annabelle's black leather gloves laying beside the sink. Raven glared at the sink and gloves and then at Annabelle. She walked over, turned the faucet off, took the gloves and threw them at Annabelle who was clearly still in shock.

When she felt the gloves hit her she looked up at Raven will no expression, she was only shaking with all here electricity running through her.

" Go home." Raven commanded, " Go back to the boarding house and stay away from trouble for the rest of the day. Take the back way through the woods as well." With that Raven left Annabelle alone.

**************************************************************************

" Okay so it's three burgers one with everything, one with everything except onions, and one with only ketchup and mustard, a chicken sandwich with lettuce and tomatoes, two salads, 2 cokes, 1 moo juice, and 3 waters. Right?" Savannah said checking her list of food items.

" Ja could you add some French fries vith mine?" Kurt asked.

Savannah wrote down French fries on her list. She turned to see Rogue sitting under a tree right by the table that the X-Men were sitting at. She was reading her favorite book Dracula.

" Want anything Rogue?" she asked.

" Nah. Ah'm fine. Ah'm skipp'n lunch today." Rogue said turing a page in her book with her eyes fixated on it.

" Suit yourself. Okay I'm off. I'll be back in ten minutes." Savannah said as she headed for the parking lot.

" Savannah, are you sure you don't want me to go?" said a jealous Scott.

" Yes I'm sure. Besides your not the only one who drives." Savannah teased. Scott only grunted as he watched her go off to her car.

She put on her sunglasses and then put in the keys. As her car started she looked in her rearview mirror to make sure it was clear to back out. As she looked she saw the reflection of a young girl who was walking sort of unhappily. She turned her head to look at the girl and saw that it was Annabelle walking away from the school.

Savannah took of her glasses, stopped her car, and got out of the car. She watched as Annabelle disappeared into the woods and then followed her, but lost track of her once she entered the woods. Searching, she came to a clear area were there was a circle of trees around her. She looked forward, back, right, and then at her left side she saw Annabelle walking.

" Annabelle!" Savannah screamed.

Annabelle stopped to look at Savannah. Her brown eyes widened as she began to run.

" No wait, Annabelle! There's something important that I want to tell you!" Savannah screamed going after her. She ran after Annabelle passing the many blurs of trees and bushes. This time she was determined to talk to Annabelle...at any cost.

" Annabelle wait!" Savannah yelled at the top of her lungs.

Annabelle could hear her gaining close. She wished she could just turn around and zap her unconscious, but that was her friend, or at least was her friend until her own powers emerged.

Savannah couldn't take it anymore. She stopped her self and lifted herself into the air, her hair blowing slightly by the wind propelling her up. She moved forward towards Annabelle only staying level with the top of the trees. She saw a little clearing of trees ahead were there was a wooden bench.

" Perfect. I can talk with her there." She thought.

Savannah stopped flying and floated herself. She lifted her hands up and concentrated on Annabelle.

Annabelle was running quite fast when all of a sudden wind came from every direction around her and lifted her up. She screamed in fear as wind pushed her up and around in a cyclone like fashion.

Savannah concentrated harder as she began to float down to the ground. When she got down she let go of the wind and quickly lifted her right hand towards Annabelle who was now only about 5 ft. away from her.

Annabelle floated up into the air. It made her feel like she was in space.

She screamed at first, but then stopped. She found it like their was no gravity on her. She was sacred and thought new powers were evolving in her.

Savannah then took her left hand and pushed it up beside her right hand. Wind blew Annabelle near the benches and then sat her down. Savannah let go and ran up towards her.

Annabelle was frightened at what just happened and when she saw Savannah coming she was about the get up, but Savannah took her right hand and increased the gravity on Annabelle so that she couldn't get up.

" Annabelle please just listen to me." Savannah said as she stopped 2 ft. away form her still pinning Annabelle to the benches.

" Anna please, I'm the one holding you down, not you."

Annabelle was confused. She wasn't sure what was going on. She wanted to disappear, but she couldn't concentrate on making her "inviso-smoke".

" Ugh..." Savannah grunted as she struggled to keep a hold of the gravity.

" Annabelle I need to talk about something very important that you and I share. Can you please trust me. If so I'll let go, but you need to promise that you won't run away."

Annabelle looked at her funny. She realized that it was Savannah who caused those winds to life her up, and it was her now that was keeping her pinned. It was strange, but Annabelle thought that Savannah couldn't possibly be what she thought she was, or was she?

" Yes. I promise." Annabelle said finally.

Savannah let go with relief. She then looked at Annabelle with a sparkle in her eyes.

" Wow. Look at you. It's been a while since we last saw each other huh?"

" We'll you've grown too Savy." Annabelle proclaimed.

" Listen Annabelle, I know that you're a mutant." Savannah said.

" You do?" Annabelle asked a little sacred and fidgeting with her hands.

" You didn't figure that out by me did you?" Annabelle asked, her voice squeaking.

" No, not at all. I found out by Ms. Darkholme or should I say Mystique."

Annabelle's eyes widened, " How do you now that our Principal is Mystique, better yet, how do you even know of Mystique?"

" Annabelle, I am mutant just like you. I have special abilities. I can make and control wind. I also kept you pinned down with my gravity powers."

" Gravity powers?" Annabelle looked puzzled.

" Yeah I can control, create, or manipulate the winds, and I can somewhat manipulate the gravitation pull on people and objects."

Annabelle only looked at Savannah in amazement.

" I don't use my gravity powers as much because they're weak, but they come in handy sometimes."

" That's amazing Savy." Annabelle said. She looked down at her hands that were covered by black leather gloves.

" So what's so special about you?" Savannah asked.

" Well... I can fly, and create fog around me. Sometimes it makes me invisible." Annabelle said.

Savannah looked at Annabelle's gloves and thought of Rogue's power.

" So what are the gloves for?" she asked.

" Oh those? Well protection I guess. My other power I'm ashamed of." Annabelle proclaimed lowering her head even more.

" Can't you tell me?" Savannah asked.

Annabelle sighed deeply, " Well, I suppose I should start from the whole beginning."

" It started this last Friday." Annabelle started. She sighed deeply trying to remember every bit of what had happened. Although, she remembered all of it perfectly. She wished she couldn't, but how could anyone forget what she did.

" It was a day like any other day. At least I thought it was going to be. I woke up with a burning feeling in my stomach and hands, but I passed it off as just another nervous pain about a test I was going to take that was worth practically your whole semester grade. So I went on that morning as usual, dressing, eating, the basic stuff to get ready for school." Annabelle sighed again as she got ready for the horrible part of her memory. Savannah looked at her and listened carefully.

" I was coming down the stairs to get ready to head off to school. I called bye to mum and dad. Then mum came into the living room to hug me good-bye. I put down my backpack to hug her too, then as I was about to hug her, I felt that burning again only worse. I could feel it come up from my feet, to my knees, to my hips, and then split to my arms. Then as they got to my hands this electric energy blast came through my fingers and the next thing I knew my mother was laying on the ground. Little sparks where crawling up and down her body like worms. I screamed in horror. My father, hearing my blood curdling scream, came running into the living room to find mother lying on the floor, and me crying. He ran over to me to comfort me, but I felt that burning again, it raced through my legs, up to my arms, and it shot out to my dad. That time I hadn't even touched him. He shook as electricity entered him. Then as it stopped he fell to the floor just like mum."

Annabelle's eyes looked as if they were filling with water, but really they weren't. She had to sniff a few times to keep from crying.

" So what happened after that?" Savannah asked giving her a tissue to use. Annabelle used it and then began to speak again.

" I was so freaked out. I took the gloves that were in the closet thinking that I could prevent whatever was coming out of my hands. Then I left the house. I ran away not knowing where I was going. I just ran. Then at one point I stopped to catch my breath. As I stopped, it just so happened that I was at the park. I saw police men walking along the trail. Afraid they were looking for me, I panicked. They were in each direction and coming closer. I was so scared. I closed my eyes and hoped they'd go away. I heard them stop in front of me and talking. I wasn't sure at first what they said because I was so scared they were going to see me. Opening my eyes there was one police man so close to me, that I could see the pores on his face. I couldn't understand why he didn't see me. I took my chances and ran to the pond in the park. I looked over it to not see my reflection. I was really scared now. Then I felt smoke come from my body and I reappeared to see myself. I was so scared that I couldn't even think. I thought I was dying slowly, so I just left to go to that old abandoned building near Hannah street and Fifth. I climbed to the top and looked over the edge. I was about to jump and then a lady called from behind me. I lost my balance and began to fall. I closed my eyes and screamed. It was awhile until I noticed that I wasn't falling. So I opened my eyes to see I was floating in mid-air!"

Savannah's eyes widened as she listened with much devotion.

" I floated myself back up to the top of the building and next to the lady. She introduced herself as Raven Darkholme. She explained what was happening to me and offered to take me to New York, were she lived, to help me out. I didn't know what to do so I just said yes. So she flew me to New York and got me settled into her house. She introduced me to the other Brotherhood members too. She enrolled me into this school and well? Here I am today. Still not better and definitely not getting any help." Annabelle stopped talking and started crying. Savannah noticed that no tears were coming out of Annabelle's eyes. She didn't say anything and figured she could talk with the Professor later.

" Annabelle, I know what your going through. It's hard to get use to a whole new life. I sort of went through the same thing." Savannah said.

" Yeah, but you didn't kill your parents!" Annabelle screamed behind all her crying.

" Annabelle, I can get help for you. Better help that Raven can. She's not going to help you. She's just going to use you. I get help controlling my powers. My powers can get out of hand if I don't control my emotions well. I also live there for my safety from other non-mutants who don't know of people like you and me. You too can live there in peace." Savannah stated. She couldn't help but feel the pain Annabelle was showing. Annabelle only looked up at her with a sad and depressed face.

" There are other mutants around Anna that you would least expect. Remember Jean? The one from second period? She sat in front of y-"

" I know who she is!" Annabelle screeched.

Savannah looked at her and continued," Anna, what I'm trying to say is, I think you should give the Xavier Institute a shot. Whadd'ya say?" Annabelle looked up at Savannah again and spoke weakly.

" Savannah, a lot has happened these pass few days that I can't think straight. My parents are dead, and my sisters are probably looking for me by now, I have all these strange powers inside of me, and I can't even control them-"

" But you can get help with me Anna-"

" Let me finish!" Annabelle screamed, " Right now I just don't think I'll join any team or Institute or whatever. I just need time alone." Annabelle said as she started to get up and walk away.

" Annabelle?" Savannah said also getting up from the cold wooden benches now warm from Savannah and Annabelle sitting there.

" No. Just let me have time to think!" Annabelle yelled as smoke engulfed her, and within seconds she was gone. Savannah sighed and looked down at her watch.

" Shoot!" I have 20 minutes left of lunch. The guy's will be mad if I don't get their lunch. I'll take the speedy way." Savannah said as she propelled herself up starting to leave. Just as she did a figure came out from the bushes. It was in Savannah's path as Savannah came to a screeching halt and landed herself. Out of the shadows came forth Raven Darkholme. Her face showed anger and here eyes were glowing yellow.

" Savannah! I told you to stay away from her! She's mine and now look what you've done! You took her away from me!" Raven screamed, her eyes glowing even more yellow. She slowly turned into her real blue self while walking towards Savannah with an evil gleam. Savannah started walking backwards and almost ran into the benches. She had to lift herself up and over Raven to keep from falling. Raven turned around, her eyes still glaring yellow. She was mad and you could tell.

" Raven, listen to me! Like I said before, Annabelle is my friend and there's nothing you can do about it! She's not evil like you! She's kind and generous-"

" OH SHUT UP!" Raven yelled at the top of her lungs. " I don't care what she is, or how she acts! I care about her powers! They are very useful to me!"

" Oh so you can blast other mutants and take control of them?" Savannah yelled back.

Raven's face grew red. She wanted to hit Savannah so hard that it would knock her clear to the other side of town. Just before she did hit her, a rustling in the bushes stopped her. She grunted and turned back to her human shape.

" This isn't over Savannah! You'll see! When you least expect it... I'll attack you!" Raven said heading off.

Savannah sighed in relief as she headed over towards the rustling bushes. Slowly she went, scared at what might be there. She knelt down and was starting to push back the bushes when all of sudden a cat came jumping out screeching. A dog followed close behind knocking Savannah down. They ran away and all was quiet again. Savannah laid there on the ground and stayed there for the rest of lunch, not getting any of the other X-Men their lunch that they ordered. Instead lying there thinking about Annabelle and how mad she made Mystique.

Xavier Institute:

" Professor?" Savannah yelled. Her sound echoed the halls, but no one answered.

" Hmm. Must be the first one home." Savannah thought.

A door swung opened to Savannah's right as Ororo entered the room. Her long white hair always seemed to look like it was blowing in the wind. Savannah smiled at her and went over to her. However when she did, Ororo didn't have a welcoming facial expression. Instead it was serious.

" Come young wind rider. The professor needs to see you immediately. " said Ororo grabbing Savannah's arm and leading her down the many halls and in to an elevator. They rode down into the Cerebro room. There awaiting them was the professor. He was staring, more like glaring though, at the huge holographic screen in front of him. The room was cold, but it should have been. After all, it was almost entirely made of silver metal like walls. The room was a computer it self, with a little platform that stretched out to the middle of the room. In the middle of the room sat professor Xavier, in his wheel chair, with the Cerebro helmet on his head.

" What is it professor?" Savannah asked walking down the platform and towards the professor. Her shoes made a clinking sound as she walked. When she got up to the professor, the professor spoke to her.

" Savannah, Cerebro detected a new mutant a while back. It was about last Friday. I was going to have Ororo, Jean, and myself go to try and recruit her here, but something held me back. It was the fact that her powers were very... shall I say, interesting."

Savannah walked closer to the professor and looked at the holographic screen. There, a model of Annabelle stood. It was rotating around and around and on the right-hand of the screen, there was all of Annabelle's personal data. Savannah wasn't really surprised that the professor knew.

" Professor, why are you concerned about Annabelle's powers?" She asked.

" I'm only concerned with her electrical manipulation. Annabelle's electric powers are the most important. All she could do at the beginning was generate electrical energy bolts. However, didn't you have some power problems this afternoon at your school Savannah?" the professor asked raising an eyebrow.

Savannah's eyes widened, " Yes we did." She said.

" That was because of Annabelle. She can't always control when her powers unleash. When she was in the bathroom and was going to use the water from the sink, her powers had unleashed and when her powers reacted with water, it effected her deeply. What Cerebro shows here," The professor pointed to the data section. " Is that because Annabelle's electrical powers reacted with water, it turned her whole body into practically electric energy. As we speak now Annabelle is pure electricity."

" That explains why Annabelle had no tears when she was crying." Savannah mumbled to herself.

" Annabelle's body has no water. It can't now. She's electricity. She can never come in contact with water ever again. It could kill her if there is enough of it." explained the professor. Savannah was not happy. She was very upset now and thought about how Annabelle felt.

" Savannah, another thing. Because Annabelle thought she couldn't touch anyone at the start, when she was effected by the water, it effected her brain waves and some of her x-gene, and that thought made it come true."

" So now Annabelle can't touch anyone with her hands, but before she could have." Savannah asked seeming to answer her own question.

" Yes. That's right." The professor answered.

Savannah shook her head, lowered it, and sighed. She turned to look at Ororo who was standing behind her.

" I'm sorry for all the trouble your going through Savannah." Ororo said. Savannah gave a small smile to her to show that she was saying thank you from her heart.

" Thanks Ororo. I got a lot on my mind. I think I'll take a walk in the park to clear it." Savannah said as she started to head off.

" Be careful Savannah." The professor said as he and Ororo watched her go off.

"Shouldn't we have told her about-" Ororo started to say, but was interrupted.

"No, Ororo. I don't Savannah needs to know yet. Besides if Savannah knew, she might pressure Annabelle even more, and the last thing Annabelle needs right now is pressure." the professor explained turning off the Cerebro system and wheeling his wheelchair away.

The Bayville Park:

Savannah walked down the stoned pavement path. There was a slight breeze outside and it was fairly nice outside. The sky was painted orange, purple, and pink all around. It made Savannah feel like she was in that dream again. The same dream that she kept having constantly just before she found out she was a mutant. The tall trees were turning their orange and brown colors and the grass was more soft that ever. Sometimes when Savannah looked to her side, she saw very few people around. She was surprised no one else was out. It was such a peaceful night.

As Savannah walked along the path, she came to a little area were there was two benches placed on opposite sides of each other. She sat down on one and relaxed. She thought about what would happen to Annabelle. Would she run away? Would she stay? What if she never saw her best friend again. Savannah couldn't afford that. She couldn't let her best friend just leave her. She decided she would help her through this as much as possible. "That's what friends were for right?" she thought to herself.

Just as Savannah was about to get up a tree began changing from the corner of her eyes. She quickly got up and looked over to that direction. Standing there was a blue figure wearing a white dress and white boots that came up to her knees. Then out of the distance of the other trees came the Brotherhood. They had an evil smile and followed behind Mystique as she came towards Savannah.

" Well well well, look what we have hear. Savannah all alone. Ha! Didn't I tell you that I would get you for what you've caused? Oh you thought I was joking didn't you?" mocked Mystique. Savannah only glared at her.

" Like your going to get me Mystique? What gives you the thought you could beat me?" Savannah told her trying to stand her ground.

" Because Mystique's got us yo!" Toad exclaimed.

" I'm not even going to bother wasting energy on you pathetic fools." Savannah said as she began to walk away.

" Fools? FOOLS? You think we're fools?! Well show you! Boys, attack!" Mystique yelled watching the brotherhood run off using their unique talents.

Toad was the first one to attack. He spit out his tongue and wrapped it around Savannah's legs. She fell to the ground and was starting to be dragged in when she used her strength to fly up into the air. Toad and his tongue followed.

" WAHHHH! Sthoupit! AHHH! Sthoot! AHH!" screamed Toad as he let go of his graps on her and flew far away. Savannah came back down to the ground.

The next was Quicksilver to act. He flew right past her and hit her in the chest. Then he came back and hit her again. After hitting her a third time, he went in circles around her causing her to be lifted up in the air by his circling around her so fast.

Savannah was being tossed into the air around in a circle so much it was making her sick. Finally she just let herself be moved around as she concentrated on Quicksilver. He was running around and around when all of a sudden, a mysterious force stopped Pietro dead in his tracks. He fell face first on the ground with his whole body stuck to the ground.

"Ah! I can't move. Too...much...force..." he said. Savannah fell to the ground and then used her winds to fling him into a tree knocking him out.

She tried to talk to Mystique, but Avalanche sent an earth shaking shock. The ground started to split as Savannah tried to keep her balance. As the earth was being shaken by Avalanche, Blob came running at her. Savannah panicked and lifted herself up. Blob ran right past her and hit another tree beside Quicksilver. The whole tree came tumbling down as Blob was knocked out cold.

She was mad now. Savannah was furious with this. She didn't deserve this at all.

"All right Mystique, you want the wind goddess? You got it!" Eyes glowing a faint blue, she raised herself up into the air a little more. Her hair blew as she stuck her hands out. Wind was blowing everywhere. It was blowing around her in a torando like fashion to keep her protected and neither Mystique nor Avalanche could get to her. At one point Avalanche tried to get up into the winds of Savannah, but as he did he only was there for a second when the winds blew him far away from the park and out of sight.

Mystique was not happy. She was determined to get revenge on Savannah if it even meant killing her. She knew she couldn't get Savannah with her winds and thought of something else.

" Savannah! Stop this! Why don't we stop fighting with our powers and fight like real people!" Mystique screamed beneath the winds. She watched for a second to see what Savannah would do. After a couple of seconds the winds began to die down and Savannah came back to the ground. As she landed her eyes were looking straight at Mystique with an evil glare. You could tell Savannah was not happy, nor was she upset. Instead she was angry.

Mystique walked up to her as so did Savannah walk up to Mystique. Mystique smiled as she got up to her. She stood back a few feet and turned into a black panther.

" That ain't far Mystique! You said-" Savannah said as all of a sudden she began to be chased by Mystique. She got to Savannah and hit her hard with the sharp claws on her paws. Savannah went flying and hit a tree head first. She laid there weak from the hit. She tried to get up both with and without her powers, but it didn't work. She was too weak from the blow and she couldn't concentrate. Mystique, who was the panther, started charging at her again. Savannah lifted her hands up towards Mystique and Mystique was blown back a few feet by the winds. But it was no use. Savannah was weak, and she needed help. So she contacted the professor.

" Professor! Professor! I need help. I'm in the park being attacked by Mystique. Please help!" Savannah couldn't go on. She was tired and just wanted to go to sleep. Her shoulder was severely cut and bleeding quite good. Her head pounded but she didn't know if it too was cut and bleeding.

Mystique changed back into herself and came up to Savannah who was lying helplessly on the ground. Breathing heavily, Mystique could smell victory.

" You think your so powerful now Hurricane? Think again!" said Mystique. She lifted her hand and made it into a fist ready to hit Savannah to knock her out. She lifted it, started to come down to hit her, and Savannah closed her eyes tight waiting for the excrutiating pain that was about to happen. But just half-way down, just as Mystique was about to hit her, a huge wave of electricity came all around Mystique. She yelled in pain as more electricity came, and it was so bright that Savannah could see the light even through closed eye lids.

The electricity stopped and Mystique made a small grunt as she fell to the ground. Behind her was Annabelle with her gloves off and her hands showing with energy around them. She was frowning as her eyes watched Mystique fall. After that Annabelle put back on her gloves and went over to Savannah. Savannah was happy to see Annabelle.

" Anna. You saved my life." She said feebly.

" Yeah well, what are friends for if not to be there for one another." Annabelle said holding Savannah's head up. Savannah smiled.

" Yeah, you picked a good time to be here for me." Savannah said starting to get up. As she did the X-Men in their uniforms came running up.

" Savannah!" Scott yelled running over to her first, " Are you okay?"

" Yeah. I'm fine." Savannah responded as the other X-Men came running up as well.

Scott helped Savannah up to her feet and held onto her so that she could gain back her balance. Jean gave a small cloth that she had and wrapped it around Savannah's cut shoulder.

" Like what happened?" Kitty asked seeing Mystique on the ground out cold.

" A jealous Mystique was just taking her anger out on Savannah." Annabelle responded.

" Looks like Mystique needs some anger management classes den." Kurt said jokingly. The X-Men gave a small laugh at Kurt.

" You all right then squirt? Looks like you took care of her." Logan asked as he heaved Mystique on his shoulder wanting to break a few of her bones, but didn't. Savannah nodded as she let go of Scott's hand holding her up. She turned to Annabelle who stood behind her.

" Actually the credit goes to Annabelle." Savannah exclaimed. Then she thought of something. How had Annabelle knew she was in trouble?

"So uh...why were you really here at the park?" Savannah asked.

" I was actually speaking to your professor this afternoon while you were still in school. He explained everything to me. The water incident, my mutations, etc. He asked me if I wanted help, but I said that I needed to time to think. So I left and went to the park. When I saw wind blowing hard in a section of the park, I knew it was you. Oh yeah that Toad slammed into me out of nowhere." Savannah laughed a bit. "So I went over and by the time I got there, you were lying on the ground hurt and Mystique attacking you. Since I hated Mystique for not even keeping her word of helping, I gave her a piece of my mind." Annabelle explained.

" So have you thought about joining us?" Savannah asked after a moment of silence hoping that she would say yes.

Annabelle looked around at the X-Men in their neat uniforms. She then lowered her head for a moment and then raised it back up to look straight into Savannah's violet eyes.

" Savannah, my powers aren't what you call user friendly. I'm afraid if I go live with you, I might cause too much trouble for your professor, or friends, for that matter. I don't want to hurt anyone and I think it would be best to just be alone so I don't end up killing anyone. "

Savannah didn't say anything. All she did was nod to her.

" Very well. But if you change your mind, you know who to call. And you are always welcomed to visit." Savannah said.

Annabelle smiled as she floated into the air and said goodbye to Savannah and waved to the X-Men.

Savannah watched her disappear into the air and then the X-Men escorted her home. Savannah knew that one day they would be together as a team. She knew Annabelle would stay, and she knew that she would be okay, and that even though she and Annabelle parted for a time, they were still friends...and friends last forever.

THE END
