" I can't believe it's true." Laura said with a surprised look on her face. "Then this morning, when Gracie found that there was a fire in Ms. Smith's kitchen, she was using her abilities?" Laura asked the professor who was sitting opposite of Laura and George.

"Most decidedly." The professor commented.

"I'm still confused here." George said looking at the professor straight in the eyes. "What exactly makes Gracie a mutant?" he asked.

"Gracie is an animorph." Replied the professor.

"A what morph?" George said raising an eyebrow.

"An animorph. Gracie is able to alter her molecular structure to appear as any animal species." The professor exclaimed.

" Sort of like what that idiot Mystique can do?" George asked. "She can change into any living thing." He added.

"Yes, but Gracie has a limit. She can only shape shift into animals." Ororo said.

"What is interesting is that Gracie already has special abilities of animals."

"What do you mean Professor?" asked Laura.

"I mean Gracie has heightened senses such as hearing, smelling, and other things. She also is agile, strong, stuff that an animal posses, she already has in her own body. When she morphs into an animal, those talents become stronger and even more powerful for her to use." The professor exclaimed.

"And you're Cerebro picked all of this out?" George asked.

"Precisely." The professor answered.

"Savannah is out finding Gracie right now." Ororo said.

"Gracie should have been home an hour ago." Laura said.

"That's why Savannah is looking for her." Ororo replied.

"Can't you just use your abilities to find her? Use the little Cerebro computer or your mind power." Said George.

"Cerebro is designed for mutant use, and can only track a mutant when they are using their abilities. My mind power cannot always locate someone. It only works on a limited bases, and I've already tried to locate her, but she must be farther than my limits of searching." The professor exclaimed.

At that moment a strange whistling sound was coming from outside. The noise got louder and louder as rustling was being heard against the bushes. Laura got up to look out their window, and saw the bushes and trees swaying in the wind. Then the front door flew open and wind started to blow everywhere inside the house. Papers, pencils, and small items that where in the living room began to fly everywhere. Emerging from the blowing winds came a teenager clothed in a special uniform. Her cape that she wore flapped around as she landed on the ground. The wind did not stop however once she landed. Furious the girl yelled to herself.

“I can’t believe her! Why does she have to be such a butt-head? Why must the world have unpleasant people!” she screamed. The wind blew everywhere, and George, Laura, the professor, and Ororo where being effected by it. At one point the wind became strong enough to start pushing the professor away. He started rolling back towards the walls, but Ororo used her winds to keep him steady in his wheelchair.

“Savannah!” yelled George. His voice bellowed above the noise of the wind. Savannah looked towards her father. “ Control yourself!” he yelled. Savannah breathed and calmed herself down. The wind stopped and everything in the air dropped to the ground.

“Savannah, what has gotten in to you?” Laura asked.

“It’s Mystique that bugs me so much!” replied Savannah sitting down on the sofa next to Ororo.

“Mystique? How many times do I have to tell you to stay away from her?” George said.

“It’s not my fault. She was just there when we found Gracie, pretending to be me.” Savannah explained.

“Gracie! My poor baby! Don’t tell me that Mystique took her away?” Laura said panicking.

“No. Mystique left. But Gracie followed her.”

“Savannah! You let Gracie follow Mystique? How could you? Why didn’t you go after her?” asked Laura.

“Because Annabelle was going berserk. Mystique caused her to go haywire, and Gracie got upset and went after her. I didn’t know what to do. I had to make a quick decision, and Annabelle was about to burst. That’s what makes me mad. How could Mystique do that to Annabelle.” Savannah exclaimed.

“Because she was using her as a weapon.” George replied.

“What?” Savannah said puzzled.

“Mystique knew that you had outsmarted her, so to get back, she used Annabelle as a weapon, hoping that Annabelle would hurt you with her abilities, and herself with her past.” George said.

“Correct. I don’t know if Mystique knows that she’s being followed, but something tells me that she planned this all along.” The professor said. “Ororo, go with Savannah and try to find Gracie by air. I’ll go home quickly and use Cerebro to help try and locate her. Lets just hope that she’s using her powers.” The Professor ordered.

Ororo nodded and she and Savannah took off to find Gracie. The Professor wheeled his way to the X-Van (programmed to auto pilot itself) and drove off in a hurry.

“I do hope they get to Gracie in time before Mystique does something to her.” Laura said as she watched the X-Van drive off.

Bayville Beach-

Savannah and Ororo flew side by side in the air. Their heads were focused on the ground in hopes that Gracie would be down there safely. No luck though. Gracie was nowhere to be seen. Savannah and Ororo went back to the area were Savannah first found Gracie, and landed themselves. They searched around for a bit, and then Savannah started to lift up into the air and go the direction that Gracie went earlier. Ororo stayed to search for anything that might help find Gracie.

For at least an hour Savannah flew around trying to find Gracie. She was getting tired, and was ready to just land and find her by foot. As Savannah tried to find a good location to land, she happened to glance over at the Bayville beach to her right, and saw two people. At first she didn't know who they were, but she looked again and saw Gracie standing opposite of Mystique, who was in her natural form. She made a U-turn and went towards to where Gracie and Mystique were.

She landed and charged after Mystique. Stomping, she made footprints in the sand. Savannah could feel the rage inside her wanting to get out, but she kept it inside of her for now.

"Mystique, I have a bone to pick with you, or maybe two bones, or three. In fact, why don't I just take every bone in your body and rip them to shreds because of all the pain and hate you've caused today!" Savannah yelled.

"Ah, the young wind rider has arrived. I'm glad you've found us. I've been waiting for you, Hurricane." Mystique said.

"I've lured you here so that we could have some fun. I decided that you needed some training. You haven't had some in a long time. Why not train with my recruits?" Mystique explained as Avalanche, Quicksilver, Blob, Toad, and the Scarlet Witch emerged from a huge rock like hill.

"No! Savannah don't!" yelled Gracie.

"Shut up!" Quicksilver yelled. "Blob, Toad, get her!" he added.

"Let the training begin!" yelled Mystique. Both Blob and Toad went after Hurricane. Toad spit his slime at her, but Hurricane dashed out of the way just in time before Toad's slime got her, and before Blob smashed her. She rolled across the sand, and got up again. Avalanche made the ground rumble as the sand seemed to try and consume her. She fell to her knees and her hair covered her face. Then she raised her head, her hair fell back, and her eyes glowed a slight blue. The rage and hate inside Hurricane then exploded. Hurricane let the wind control the sand and it made a huge tidal wave of sand. The sand consumed Avalanche leaving only his head sticking out. Then Quicksilver flashed by Hurricane and hit her in the back, and then in the stomach. Hurricane's eyes stopped glowing and the winds stopped blowing. She fell to the ground again only to be lifted up in the air by Quicksilver. "When ahve I been in this situation before?" She thought. Then Scarlet Witch took her turn and threw hex bolts at Hurricane. She "accidentally" hit one at Quicksilver, and it knocked him out. Hurricane kept getting hit, and strange things started to happen. She tried using her winds to break free, but they seemed to go haywire and did the exact opposite of what she wanted them to do. It seemed now that Hurricane was being beat, when all of a sudden a red beam hit the Scarlet Witch dead in the back. She was hurt and fell to the ground.

"Take a break Hurricane." Cyclops said as Jean and Rogue appeared beside him. Jean ran in and used her powers to take car of Toad. She fought with him as Cyclops fought Avalanche and Quicksilver at the same time. It seemed that Quicksilver ran around him, hitting him, and Avalanche rumbled the ground.

"What's the matter Summers, feeling a little dizzy? You seem to be since you can't keep your balance." Avalanche said.

"To fast for you Summers? Tell me if I'm getting slower." Quicksilver remarked.

Rogue herself went after Mystique. Hurricane caught up with her and stopped Rogue.

"Rogue, go after Scarlet Witch, I'll handle Mystique." Hurricane said as she ran off for her.

Rogue nodded, turned around, and ran after the Scarlet Witch. Scarlet Witch threw a hex bolt, and Rogue was blasted back from the sand, but that didn't stop her. Rogue took off her gloves and charged after Wanda. She got a hold of her arms and tried to touch her face, but eventually, Wanda pinned Rogue to the ground preventing her from it. Rogue was stuck, and Cyclops and Jean were too busy at the moment.

"I'm not going to hurt you Rogue." Wanda said.

"What? Whad'ya mean?" Rogue asked puzzled.

"I'm going to help you. Go after the others. I'll go after Mystique." Wanda exclaimed as she let Rogue go and went after Mystique.

Hurricane ran up to Mystique and hit her in the back. Mystique fell to the floor, but kicked Hurricane off as she came tumbling for her.

"Why would you want to come after me?" Mystique said as she dodged every one of Savannah's hits.

"Because you're a no good scoundrel!" screamed Hurricane. That time, she let her rage get to her again, and wind began to blow everywhere. Another tidal wave of sand went after Mystique. Mystique morphed into a bird and flew off towards were Gracie had been standing the whole time. As Hurricane directed the sand to go after Mystique, Blob hit her and she went flying in to the sand.

Mystique landed and morphed back, she put out her hand to try and grab Gracie away, but the Scarlet Witch interfered. She stood in front of Gracie with her arms crossed.

"Wanda, get out of the way!" yelled Mystique.

"I'm sorry I can't let you." Wanda explained.

Mystique's eyes widened with fury. "Then I'll make you!" Mystique said, but before she could do anything, she passed out. Rogue was behind her, and she smiled.

Gracie, who was watching everything, was very upset. She could not understand why mutants would fight other mutants. Now that she was one, she thought things differently. She thought that this new evolution of man, this new breed of humans, would live in peace and help others less fortunate. Now it was clear. Even if evolution had reared its ugly head towards humans, and they had now evolved, there would always be evil humans, mutants, living things even, and there would always be villains as well.

So with that, Gracie let her rage go too, and she morphed in to a huge elephant, and the trunk blew loudly. Cyclops, Jean, Rogue, Hurricane, and the Brotherhood stopped their fighting and turned towards the elephant. Gracie charged after the Brotherhood. The ground rumbled as the Brotherhood tried to escape.

"Hey man, we can't leave Mystique there!" yelled Toad.

"Forget her! It's every mutant for himself! Get out of here!" yelled Avalanche.

Toad screamed as he tripped and fell. Just before Gracie's elephant foot stomped Toad, Blob got a hold of Toad, and carried him off.

The Brotherhood escaped, all except Wanda. She glared down at Mystique who was lying out cold on the ground. She looked up at Rogue and Hurricane who were standing next to Mystique. She gave a small smirk, and then left. Rogue and Hurricane exchanged looks and then shrugged.

Gracie morphed back in to her natural form. She ran after Savannah in tears.

"Savannah!" yelled Gracie. Savannah ran after Gracie and the two hugged each other.

"I'm so glad you are all right." Savannah said. Cyclops and Jean ran up to the others as well.

"That'll be the last of them for now" Scott remarked.

"You were quite an animal, Gracie." Jean said.

"That's what I'll be called." Gracie said.

"What?" Rogue asked.

"Animal. That'll be my new code name!" Gracie said.

Savannah and the others laughed.

After everything was explained about Gracie's newly found powers, it was agreed that Gracie should join the X-Men. Gracie was excited. Two weeks later, she had moved in to the institute and was going to room with Rahne. It was Savannah's idea since both could morph themselves. One day when Savannah was shopping she saw Wanda crossing a street. She kindly went up to Wanda and asked her why she helped the X-Men that one day.

"I didn't help you. I helped myself." she responded coldly, " Your sister isn't one of us. She's perfect, not an outcast. She wouldn't last a day with the Brotherhood. I tried to tell Mystique that, but she ignored me. So I took actions of my own."

"I see. You knew she didn't belong with you guys and made us win so that Gracie would be with us. Right?" Savannah explained.

"Yeah, something like that." Wanda said and she walked away.
