An
interview on: Scott Summers
Xander: Good Morning! My name is Xander Lane and
today on Channel 1 - The Outside World, I’m going to try and interview
another one of Charles Xavior’s students. Last week, it didn’t turn out so..
hot. But now, let’s check out the weather.
Weather: Sunny. It’s very hot.
Xander: ... We really need to get a new weather
man... Okay, well, let’s welcome Scott Sumners!
*audience cheers*
Scott: Summers, that’s Summers. Not Sumners.
Xander: Summers? Oh, so sorry Scott.
Scott: It’s okay.
Xander: So, Scott, tell us about yourself.
Scott: I’m nineteen and graduated from high
school.
Xander: Tell me, I hear you were the first
student to ever live in that vast mansion.
Scott: I was.
Xander: And?
Scott: And what?
Xander: What was it like? Lonely?
Scott: No, I had Professor, Ororo, and Logan to
keep me busy. Then when I wasn’t with them, I was doing my studies.
Xander: Who is this Professor?
Scott: He’s the one who thought of the whole
Institute deal. Professor’s good at staying calm and can handle practically
anything.
Xander: Oh? And what exactly is there to handle?
Scott: You’re up to something.
Xander: Me?
Scott: You!
Xander: I don’t understand.
Scott: Uh-huh.
Xander: ...
Scott: ...
Producer: Somebody say something!
Xander: Huh? Oh. Well, Scott, now that you
graduated, what will you do?
Scott: Go to college. *slouches*
Xander: I’m going to be frank.
Scott: Frank? I don’t think so. I’d stick with
Xander. It fits you better, man.
Xander: *laughs irritably* Cute, but that’s not
what I meant. Why are you living in the Institute.
Scott: I plead the fifth.
Xander: We’re not in court!
Scott: Well that questions too personal.
Xander: It’s just a question.
Scott: Ask another.
Xander: Not until this one is answer, Mr.
Summers.
Scott: Oh, are you using last names now, Ms
Lane?
Xander: Just answer the question.. unless
Professor Xavior is keeping a secret behind those doors. *turns to camera*
There you have it, ladies and gentlemen. If Scott Summers can’t answer a simple
question of why he’s there, you can only assume what’s going on behind those
large doors. *turns to Scott* Right?
Scott: You really shouldn’t assume.
Xander: I never said I did.
Scott: Liar.
Xander: Excuse me?
Scott: You said, “There you have
it, ladies and gentlemen. If Scott Summers can’t answer a simple question of
why he’s there, you can only assume what’s going on behind those large doors.”
I have a photogenic memory. Why else do you think I pass high school with A’s.
I repeat, you shouldn’t assume.
Xander: Why shouldn’t I assume, Scott? Unless
there really is something weird going on behind-
Scott: You shouldn’t assume because-
Xander: I know why!
Scott: Well geez, don’t get an attitude, man!
Xander: I’m not! *stops and takes a deep breath*
I’m not. I’m just asking a simple question and you won’t answer which means, we
can only assume- I mean, guess what’s behind the gates of the vast Institute.
Scott: Fine. Repeat the question.
Xander: Okay then. Why are living in the
Institute?
Scott: When I was a child, my father was flying
a plane back from our vacation. The plane was caught on fire by a lightning
bolt. My bro and I jumped out with the only parachutes. I landed hard, and was
in a coma for a year or so. Professor Xavior adopted me and ever since I’ve
lived there.
Xander: ...
Scott: Not the answer you expected? *grins*
Xander: Is there another answer?
Scott: No.
Xander: Okay, another personal question. Why are
you wearing those shades?
Scott: Does it matter?
Xander: To the person who asked the question,
yes.
Scott: Who asked it?
Xander: I can’t reveal their name.
Scott: You asked it.
Xander: Maybe.
Scott: My eyes are sensitive.
Xander: Take them off.
Scott: You know, you have a serious problem with
getting into everybody’s life!
Xander: I’m only doing my job, Scott.
Scott: Back to first name basis, are we?
Xander: Does it matter?
Scott: ...
Xander: Hit a nerve? Why are you really living
in the Institute? What’s the Institute for? I hear freaks live behind those
gates. Do they? Are you a freak?
Scott: *drops head and grits teeth*
Xander: Why are getting mad? Are these questions
bothering you? *gets closer*
Scott: *adjusts shades* I suggest we get off
the personal questions before I go nuclear on you.
Xander: Nuclear? How?
Scott: *bright red glow comes from behind
glasses* Do you want to find out? *growls*
Xander: N- Not particularly, no.
Scott: *red glow disappears*
Xander: I’m sorry if I agitated you, Scott.
*sips water* No more personal questions.
Scott: Fine.
Xander: Umm, *flips through papers on clipboard*
It seems all these questions are personal.
Scott: Then this interview is over. *stands to
leave*
Xander: Alright then. Thank you for coming on
the show.
Scott: Whatever. *walks off*
Xander: Well... umm...
Producer: Commercial.
Xander: I guess that’s it from our interview
today. I don’t seem to be getting anywhere this week. Next week though, I’ve
asked a senior high student, Jean Grey, to join us. Tune in then.
Camera man: Annnnnnnnd cut!
