Taryn is a normal human teenager and has no mutant abilities. she lives in Bayville and attends Bayville High with the X-Men. Before mutants were known of, Taryn was friends with Jean. She would be seen walking around with Jean, and was considered somewhat a popular girl like Jean.
Taryn began to develop a crush on Scott during a school carnival. She tries many times to get Scott to be her boyfriend, and this made Jean jealous. Their friendship is torn apart when Taryn asks Scott out to a dance. When the mutant outbreak was discovered, Taryn, like all the others, hated them and considered them a menace. She "dumped" Scott and has not been in contact with Jean or Scott since.
Taryn appears to be a stubborn. She always tries to get what she wants, and she only wants the best. She seems to be popular at Bayville, and tries to compete with Jean to try and be better than her(this was after they stopped being friends).
